Why Backpacking?

By Joseph Then

When was the last time you took a long break? How about a long holiday? But travelling do cost money and I want to have a nice travel on a nice budget. Well, here's one good solution: Try Backpacking. This article will talk about backpacking and why backpacking is fun.

Firstly, we have to understand what backpacking is. Backpacking is a form of low-cost travel. In other words, backpacking is a way where you can travel around without bringing too much money. But, backpacking means that there will be no luxuries like posh hotels and air-con malls.

One good thing about backpacking is that you can always go on your own and there is no need to get someone to tag along

One thing for sure; you won't be alone for long. When you travel alone it does not mean it has to be a lonely trip. Here is the first tip on making friends while traveling.

The best tips I can offer you; the easiest way to make friends is to get involved in activities. Join a group of people to scuba dive. I am sure you'll make friends there. Alternatively, simply strike up a conversation in the hostel. Make sure you do it with a smile. You can say something simple like 'Hey guys I am on my own. Mind if I join you?' Sounds very simple, right?

Here's one more really good reason for backpacking: You can really get out of your working life. Traveling on your own lets you literally leave everything behind - work, family and friends.

Well, if you have a serious relationship and you think that you need a break, you should take a time out and go backpacking. Another alternative is to set ground rules before setting off.

Backpacking alone is a great step for first timers to take. If you don't want to get lost I think that you should know what you are doing.

If you think that you don't know what you are doing, you should do some research about the countries you are going to before setting off? The other thing you should remember is that you also should learn how to manage you money well. The best suggestion I can give you is that you should take some pointer on managing your money.

Backpacking involves dealing with a different culture that you may find it hard to bear. Take it as a learning experience. Afterall, that's the purpose of backpacking.

It always helps to carry a guide book around so that you can figure your way around. Well, if you are thinking that ou will get home sick trust me, the first week will be difficult but after that, you'll be enjoying your adventure.

Bringing home the different perspective of life is priceless. Some may be wondering why I say this. Simple, you have a first hand experience of different cultures and knowledge.

What more can you ask for? Gain as much knowledge by experiencing what locals do and how they spend their day.

Now that you are armed with this knowledge, I am sure you will be confident enough to set off into this learning experience on your own.
